About Me
Avram Altman

Therapy doesn't have to feel formal or intimidating. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, have honest conversations, laugh when it's helpful, cry when you need to, and feel supported as you navigate life’s challenges.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, addiction, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and personal growth. I bring a wide range of life and professional experiences into the therapy room. Throughout my own journey, I’ve experienced many different chapters, challenges, and transitions, allowing me to connect with clients from many different backgrounds. I’ve found that creating a genuine connection and finding moments of commonality can build the trust and understanding needed to do meaningful work together.

We’ll explore your story—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—while using evidence-based approaches to better understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and find practical strategies that support your goals.

I’m here for you. Let’s talk.

My Approach

There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because every person brings a unique story, strengths, and goals. That's why I tailor therapy to fit your needs rather than following a script.

My work is grounded in a strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed approach. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to the challenges you're facing, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with greater confidence. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we'll work to understand what's driving them. My goal is to help you gain insight, develop practical skills, and create lasting changes that continue outside the therapy room.

I draw from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) when appropriate. Whether we're managing anxiety, processing trauma, navigating relationships, or working through life transitions, my goal is to provide therapy that is collaborative, practical, and meaningful.

Therapeutic Services

Individual Therapy

You don't have to have everything figured out to begin feeling better. We'll work together to make sense of things, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you move through life's dramas and traumas, knowing you're not alone.

Couples Therapy

Relationships aren't about being perfect—they're about growing together. I'll help you and your partner have honest conversations, learn to listen with curiosity instead of defensiveness, and build the skills needed for a stronger, more meaningful partnership.

Family Therapy

Family life can be messy, loud, and complicated...and that's normal. We'll work together to build on what's already working, understand each other's perspectives, and develop healthier ways to communicate and navigate challenges.
